No Excitement for this Weekend's Movies

The entire month of April was a disappointment for the Telugu film industry, as no film managed to earn a profit.

Last weekend, new releases such as "Aa Okkati Adakku," "Prasanna Vadanam," "Baak," and "Sabari" failed to make an impact.

This week, the situation is likely to deteriorate further, with public interest focused on the ongoing elections and the Indian Premier League.

In Andhra Pradesh, the elections have captivated the youth and other segments of the population.

Consequently, the films set to release this weekend—"Krishnamma," "Prathinidhi 2," and "Satya"—are receiving minimal attention.

Satyadev is working hard to promote his action drama "Krishnamma," which is set in Vijayawada. Despite his efforts, the film hasn't generated much interest.

"Prathinidhi 2," starring Nara Rohit and directed by pro-TDP journalist Murthy, also lacks hype. Although it's a political film, it received clearance from the Election Commission for release.

The producers are counting on support from TDP members. However, the trailer and promotional materials have failed to impress.

The remaining films do not feature well-known actors.
