TDP Caught Supporting Land Titling Act

The TDP finds itself embroiled in controversy over the Land Title Act, exhibiting a conflicting stance on the issue.

An old speech by TDP leader MLA Payyavula Keshav, given in the Assembly, has resurfaced, revealing his support for the Land Title Act, which was then advocated by Yellow Media and TDP.

In 2019, Keshav detailed his support for the bill, stating, "We certainly approve this bill. The Indian government has also recognized the need for this. The Indian government has asked all states to implement this bill. This law is being implemented under the name 'Bhoomi' in Karnataka. This concept may be new to our country, but it was already in practice in Australia in 1858. Subsequently, many countries adopted similar laws. Even in our country, this bill was passed in Rajasthan. Any government will face challenges in implementing this bill, but these must be addressed. It may take time, but we should view it from a positive perspective."

Following the emergence of this old speech, public confusion has ensued.

Keshav's speech suggests that the TDP is currently engaging in political maneuvers to instill fear about the Land Titling Act for political gain.

Against the backdrop of criticism from Yellow Media, Chandrababu Naidu, and Pawan Kalyan regarding the Land Titling Act, it remains to be seen how they will respond to Keshav's earlier supportive remarks.

TDP's inconsistent policies have been highlighted repeatedly. With this revelation, it appears that YCP has seized an opportunity, as TDP has been caught contradicting itself.
