Has YCP Given Up Hope On This Visakha Leader?

Adari Anand, Chairman of Visakha Dairy, contested the 2024 Assembly elections from the West Constituency in Visakhapatnam but was defeated. Since then, he has not been actively involved in the YCP and seems to have distanced himself from the party.

Recently, Anand secured a contract to supply ghee from Visakha Dairy to Simhachalam Devasthanam, sparking speculation about a potential rapprochement with the TDP.

His late father, Adari Tulasi Rao, was a long-time TDP supporter. Anand also contested for the Anakapalli MP seat in the 2019 elections but was unsuccessful.

Reports suggest that Anand is eager to return to politics, but his absence from YCP review meetings has led to speculation that the party may have lost faith in him. Readmore!

In a recent meeting with party leaders in Visakhapatnam, Chief Minister Jagan appointed former MLA Malla Vijayaprasad as the in-charge for the West Constituency, signaling an official severance of Anand’s ties with the YCP.

Malla Vijayaprasad, who won the Visakhapatnam MLA seat for Congress in 2009 and contested under the YCP banner in 2019 but lost, was expected to run again in 2024.

However, the ticket was given to Adari Anand at the time. With Anand’s exit from YCP, Vijayaprasad has now been confirmed as the candidate for the upcoming elections.

Sources within YCP suggest that the party plans to replace inactive in-charges in various regions in the coming days.
