Five people lost their lives in a tragic crash in Fannin County on Monday evening. The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) confirmed the deaths and reported that one person was airlifted to a hospital in critical condition.
The crash occurred at 5:55 p.m. on State Highway 121, between Bonham and Trenton.
According to Texas DPS, the accident happened when one car attempted to pass traffic in a no-passing zone, resulting in a head-on collision with another vehicle.
Among the victims, two individuals in one car, whose identities are still unknown, were killed. In the other vehicle, three Telugu individuals tragically lost their lives: Gopi Tirumuru from Gudur, and Rajineni Shiva and Haritha from Srikalahasti.
Haritha's husband, Sai Chennu, was critically injured and is currently fighting for his life.
The Telugu community is deeply shocked by the incident, and prayers are being offered for Sai’s recovery.
