Actress Kasturi, known for her roles in Telugu films like Annamayya and TV serials like Intinti Gruhalakshmi, has withdrawn her recent comments about the Telugu people.
During a speech at an event in Tamil Nadu, she made controversial remarks about Telugu people living in Tamil Nadu and the Telugu population in general.
Her comments sparked widespread criticism.
Initially, she declined to apologize, but she has now posted a statement on social media, clarifying that it was never her intention to offend Telugu people.
“I am fortunate to have a special connection with Telugu. Telugu people have given me name, fame, love, and a family. I reiterate that my opinions were contextually specific to certain individuals and not directed at the broader Telugu community.
It was never my intention to hurt or offend my extended Telugu family. I apologize for any unintended offense. In the interest of harmony, I withdraw all references to Telugu from my speech delivered on November 3, 2024,” she posted.
