A social media debate has pitted music directors Thaman and Devi Sri Prasad against each other, following the decision to hire Thaman at the last minute to score the BGM for Pushpa 2.
Fans are critiquing the reliability of each composer, with supporters on both sides highlighting the other's weaknesses in meeting deadlines.
Both Thaman and Devi Sri have faced criticism for occasionally delivering music at the last minute. Though this isn’t the case for all their projects, the pattern has led Telugu filmmakers to explore other options, including GV Prakash.
Despite being relatively new to Tollywood, Prakash is gaining popularity due to his reputation for timely deliveries, setting him apart from Thaman and Devi Sri.
While Devi Sri often performs music concerts and Thaman serves as a judge on music shows, GV Prakash also has commitments as an actor. However, his other pursuits haven’t impacted his reliability in delivering music.
“I never deliver music at the last minute,” says Prakash. “I finish my work a week in advance, which producers appreciate.”
Reportedly, Prakash dedicates most days to music, planning his schedule two months in advance to maintain consistency.
Prakash’s commitment is helping him secure more opportunities in Tollywood. If he delivers a few blockbuster musical hits, he could soon become a mainstay in the Telugu film industry.
