Alla Nani all set to join TDP, at last!

After remaining silent for a few months, former Deputy Chief Minister and former YSR Congress Party leader Alla Krishna Srinivas, also known as Alla Nani, is all set to join the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Tuesday.

Nani, along with his supporters, is expected to join the TDP in the presence of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu at his residence in Undavalli. The TDP leadership has invited leaders from the Eluru district to attend the event.

Alla Nani had resigned from his primary membership in the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) just days after the 2024 Assembly election results were announced.

In the 2024 elections, Nani contested from the Eluru Assembly constituency on a YSRCP ticket but was defeated. Following his loss, he resigned from his position as district president and from the party. Readmore!

There had been speculations that he might join the Jana Sena Party. However, in an unexpected move, Nani decided to join the TDP after holding discussions with key TDP leaders in Eluru district, where he has significant influence.

It is reported that Badeti Chanti, the current MLA of Eluru, has raised no objections to Nani’s entry into the party. However, some second-tier leaders within the TDP are strongly opposing his induction.

Local TDP leaders allege that Nani caused trouble for them during the YSRCP’s time in power.

Nevertheless, it seems efforts have been made to pacify these leaders and proceed with Nani’s inclusion in the party.

Since the coalition came to power, the YSRCP in the Eluru district has seen a significant decline.

Most key leaders have either shifted to Jana Sena or TDP, and even representatives from local bodies are showing interest in joining the ruling coalition.

A considerable number of YSRCP leaders have already resigned from the party.
