Remove 'Shekhawat' or we'll thrash you at your home

Taking to X, Shekhawat expressed his outrage over the portrayal of the antagonist, Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat, played by Fahadh Faasil.

"Pushpa 2 movie has a negative role of ‘Shekhawat.’ This is again an insult to Kshatriyas. Karni Sainiks, be ready. The producer of the movie will be thrashed soon," Shekhawat wrote.

Shekhawat alleged that the film’s use of the name "Shekhawat" in a negative light is a deliberate affront to the community and demanded that the filmmakers remove the reference. Readmore!

"The movie has gravely insulted the Kshatriyas. The 'Shekhawat' name has been presented in a poor light. This industry has been repeatedly disrespecting the Kshatriyas under the guise of freedom of expression," Shekhawat said in a video.

He further threatened action against the filmmakers if changes were not made.

"The makers of the movie must remove the repeated use of 'Shekhawat' from the film, or else the Karni Sena will take action, even if it means thrashing them at their homes. We are ready to go to any lengths necessary," he added.

Despite the controversy, Pushpa 2: The Rule has been enjoying tremendous success at the box office. Since its release on Thursday, theaters have been running packed shows, with fans flocking to witness the much-anticipated sequel.

Directed by Sukumar and produced by Mythri Movie Makers in collaboration with Muttamsetty Media, the film stars Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil in their iconic roles as Pushpa Raj, Srivalli, and Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat, respectively.

As the movie continues its box office rampage, the filmmakers are yet to respond to the allegations and threats from the Rajput leader.
