No post more than twice for any TDP leader?

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) general secretary and Andhra Pradesh IT minister Nara Lokesh, who has been steadily gaining control over party affairs, has proposed an interesting initiative aimed at encouraging more leaders within the party.

On Monday, Lokesh participated in various developmental programs in the Undi Assembly constituency of West Godavari district.

He also held a detailed meeting with TDP leaders and activists at the residence of Deputy Speaker K. Raghurama Krishnam Raju.

Additionally, he met with coalition leaders at the residence of Union Minister of State Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma in Bhimavaram. Readmore!

During the meeting with TDP leaders at Undi, Lokesh suggested a new policy: no party leader should hold a position for more than two consecutive terms, and opportunities should be given to other deserving leaders.

"After serving two consecutive terms in a particular position, one should either move to a higher role or take a break for one term, allowing another eligible leader to step into that position," Lokesh said.

He explained that this principle would apply to himself and Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu, both of whom would step down from their posts to work as ordinary activists without holding any official position.

"This would give other MLAs and MPs a chance to become state or central ministers," he added.

Lokesh clarified that this policy would apply only to leaders who have held ministerial positions for two consecutive terms.

"We will discuss this proposal within the party, and a decision will be taken with everyone’s consensus," he stated.

He emphasized that this initiative would provide opportunities for grassroots workers to rise to higher positions within the party, ultimately strengthening its organizational structure.

Lokesh also announced that the remaining nominated posts within the party would be filled within a month.

The TDP general secretary reiterated that the party would continue its alliance with the NDA without any conditions.

"This collaboration among the three parties is benefiting the state and will remain a long-term partnership," he concluded.
