YSRCP leader Bhuma Kishore Reddy has made sensational allegations against Allagadda MLA Bhuma Akhila Priya, claiming she is demanding a share even from beggars at the Ahobilam temple steps, a prominent pilgrimage site in Nandyal district.
These allegations were made in response to Akhila Priya’s criticism of YSRCP leaders, where she questioned, “Are they herding donkeys instead of speaking up for farmers?” over the issue of water release from the KC Canal. In retaliation, Kishore Reddy launched a scathing counterattack.
Speaking to the media, Kishore Reddy asked, “You draw lakhs in salary and do nothing — are you the one herding donkeys?”
He dismissed Akhila Priya’s claim that water had been released to KC Canal, calling it false. He even showed a video of distressed farmers in Sirivella, warning of possible suicides due to lack of water.
Targeting her further, he said, “You’re sitting in Allagadda doing nothing. Your own brother, Jagath Vikhyat Reddy, says this government is useless.”
Kishore Reddy went on to claim that under the coalition government, Allagadda residents are complaining that even for buying a kilo of chicken, they are being forced to pay an additional â¹10, allegedly as a commission in Akhila Priya’s name.
Even during Ramzan, he said, Muslim shop owners are being harassed with seizures of chicken shops, making it difficult for them to earn a peaceful living.
In a shocking statement, he alleged that during a recent visit to Ahobilam, beggars themselves complained that Akhila Priya’s representatives were demanding a share of their earnings.
“If they earn â¹1,000 in alms, â¹800 is taken away, and only â¹200 is given back as daily wage,” the beggars allegedly told him.
Kishore Reddy said it's disgraceful that politics has fallen to the level where even beggars at temple steps are being extorted, and added, “In my entire political career, I’ve never seen such shameless behavior.”
