Baahubali was a massive hit — and we immediately got Baahubali 2. Pushpa became a blockbuster — and Pushpa 2 was quickly announced.
Same with Tillu and Tillu Square, MAD and MAD 2. Almost every hit film gets a sequel. Except for two major exceptions: Devara and Salaar.
The buzz during the release of these two films was no less intense — especially in the case of Devara. Since it was NTR's first film after RRR, there was tremendous pressure to keep up the momentum and sustain the market.
In Telugu states, efforts were made to tightly control the box office numbers. Only the official figures released by the producers were allowed to circulate. The film was projected as a blockbuster.
But strangely, Devara 2 has been put in cold storage. It's unclear whether a sequel is even in the works.
There's complete silence on that front. Meanwhile, NTR is lining up projects like War 2, a film with Prashanth Neel, and another with Nelson. But there’s not even a whisper about Devara 2.
They recently made noise about Devara being released in Japan, but no clarity has emerged on how well it actually performed there. Even now, NTR hasn't spoken a word about a sequel.
So, if Devara was truly such a great film and such a massive success, why hasn’t a sequel been announced yet?
There must be a deeper story behind this silence — one that hasn’t come out yet. Fans are eagerly waiting for Devara 2 to happen as soon as possible.
Now the big question is — what will NTR do?
