Popular character actor Prakash Raj is known for his no-nonsense approach when speaking on any subject — be it politics, cinema, or social issues.
More often than not, his remarks have stirred controversy, drawing backlash from those targeted.
Despite the criticism, Prakash Raj has remained unapologetic and continues to speak his mind, especially when it comes to figures he disagrees with — such as Jana Sena Party president and current Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan.
In a recent television interview, Prakash Raj shared his views on national awards and politics, during which he made a few pointed remarks about Pawan Kalyan.
He recalled that when Pawan Kalyan first entered politics, he often spoke passionately about public issues.
“However, after coming to power, Pawan Kalyan doesn’t seem to be addressing those concerns. Politics isn’t a movie where you can say different things in different scenes,” he remarked.
Prakash Raj also questioned Pawan Kalyan’s contribution since becoming Deputy Chief Minister.
“What is he actually doing for the people? Why stay in power if you’re not solving their problems?” he asked.
On the Tirupati Laddu controversy, Prakash Raj clarified that he is not opposed to Sanatana Dharma or the Hindu faith. He acknowledged the sensitivity of the issue, given the deep sentiments of devotees.
“We must speak responsibly and back our claims with evidence in such matters. If there was indeed adulteration in the preparation of laddus, I strongly demanded strict action against those responsible,” he said.
This isn’t the first time Prakash Raj has criticized the actor-turned-politician. In the past, he made similar comments on social media regarding Pawan Kalyan’s stance on Sanatana Dharma.
At the time, Pawan Kalyan responded by acknowledging Prakash Raj as a friend, but added that there was no need to address the issue in such a manner.
