Former YSR Congress Party general secretary and ex-Rajya Sabha member V Vijayasai Reddy is gearing up for his second innings in politics, with plans to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) soon.
According to reliable sources, the BJP national leadership has given the green light for Sai Reddy's entry into the party.
The BJP’s alliance partners — the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the Jana Sena Party — have reportedly raised no objections, provided he does not interfere in Andhra Pradesh politics.
Sources indicate that the BJP leadership is currently deliberating on what role Sai Reddy should be assigned outside of Andhra Pradesh once he formally joins the party.
Reports from sections of the digital media suggest that Sai Reddy is likely to be appointed as the BJP in-charge for Tamil Nadu, ahead of the 2026 assembly elections.
The decision appears to be influenced by his strong connections with political and business circles in Tamil Nadu.
A native of Nellore, Sai Reddy is said to have significant business ties in Tamil Nadu, which could make him an asset in strengthening the BJP’s organizational structure in the state ahead of the polls.
“That such a prominent role is being considered for Sai Reddy even before he officially joins the party is a testament to his influence within BJP leadership circles,” a source noted.
If appointed, his role in Tamil Nadu would mark a significant political development, given his earlier stature as the No. 2 leader in the YSR Congress Party.
