Allu Arjun begins work on Atlee's film with look test

How does one follow the roaring success of Pushpa 2: The Rule (2024)? For Allu Arjun, the answer lies in teaming up with a proven blockbuster director.

The actor has officially begun work on his next project with Atlee, the filmmaker behind Jawan (2023).

Sources tell Bollywood sources that the actor-director duo conducted a look test and concept photoshoot on Sunday at Mehboob Studios in Bandra, Mumbai, marking the first major step for their upcoming pan-India venture, which was announced earlier this month.

A source close to the production revealed that the session began around 1 pm. Readmore!

“They explored multiple looks for Arjun’s character — ranging from rugged to polished. After Pushpa, he has a very strong on-screen persona, but Atlee wants to reinvent him with a completely different image. Arjun was deeply involved in the creative process throughout the look test,” the source shared.

Though plot details remain under wraps, the film is rumored to be a high-concept action drama. The concept shoot also involved casting trials with several 12-year-olds for a key element in the film.

If all goes as scheduled, filming is expected to begin by the end of June. The title and full cast will be officially announced in the coming weeks.
