Responding to allegations of harassment made by budding singer Pravasthi Aradhya, popular playback singer Sunitha released a video today to present her side of the story.
She firmly denied the claims made by Pravasthi, who was recently evicted from the music reality show Padutha Teeyaga.
Sunitha noted that Pravasthi has been performing on music shows since her pre-teen years, and emphasized the importance of resilience in the face of setbacks.
“Youngsters today need to learn to accept failure,” she said.
“I’ve faced many obstacles throughout my career. Accepting failure with grace opens the door to success. In this profession, respecting seniors is vital. I’ve had many of my recorded songs dropped from films, but we never resorted to making accusations. This frustration is clearly stemming from your elimination from the show.”
Addressing the issue of song selection, Sunitha clarified that the decision lies with the broadcasting channel, not the judges.
“Pravasthi is well aware that songs are chosen based on broadcasting rights. If the channel doesn’t hold the rights to a song, it simply can’t be aired. That’s the only reason behind the selection or exclusion of songs — there’s no hidden motive,” she explained.
