In a surprising turn of events, Deepika Padukone, who was earlier announced as the female lead opposite Prabhas in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s much-anticipated action thriller Spirit, is no longer part of the project.
Insiders reveal that the director was completely disappointed with what he perceived as unprofessional conduct from the actress.
Reportedly, Deepika’s demands included limited 8-hour workdays, which effectively brought down shooting hours to around 6, a refusal to deliver dialogues in Telugu, and a staggering remuneration package that included a substantial profit share.
These demands left Sandee Reddy Vanga and the production house taken aback. Following this, sources close to the production confirm that the director has decided to part ways with the actress.
Sandeep is now actively considering other options for the female lead role. It remains to be seen who will step into this high-profile role alongside Prabhas.
