'Kuberaa' Promotions: What's Wrong With This?

Nagarjuna, Dhanush, and Rashmika are the lead actors in the film Kuberaa, directed by Sekhar Kammula.

However, after the pre-release event, none of the actors or the director seem to be actively working towards building hype for the film.

The film is set to hit screens on the 20th of this month — just two days away — yet the situation is so poor that many people aren’t even aware that the release is imminent.

Apart from a North India event in Mumbai and another in Hyderabad, there have been no special interviews or promotional efforts. Readmore!

Moreover, Sekhar Kammula is reportedly still busy with pre-release improvisations or final touches even at this stage.

Why do Telugu filmmakers leave things to the last minute? In Hollywood or even Bollywood, films are completed well in advance, locked, and the teams focus solely on promotions thereafter.

At the very least, Nagarjuna — being the lead actor and having taken a hefty remuneration — could step in to give interviews for Telugu media and help with the publicity.

This film has been in the making for almost three years under the meticulous direction of Sekhar Kammula. But at the final stretch, it's as if the athlete is slowing down just before the finish line.

The hype and buzz that should be surrounding the film are clearly missing. Interviews haven’t even been given to Telugu film media yet.

The film should perform well in Telugu first, as it is the original version. Nagarjuna should have taken care of the Telugu media promotions.

This lack of promotional effort could seriously impact the film’s opening. In fact, it’s the responsibility of both the actors and the makers to promote the film — not leave everything to fate.

Neglecting aggressive promotions at such a critical time is simply a bad move.
