During Jagan Mohan Reddy’s rule, a few films critical of the TDP and actor-politician Pawan Kalyan were released, even drawing court cases.
Now, with the alliance government in power and Pawan himself part of the cabinet, there's renewed talk of countering with films targeting Jagan.
Sources say some individuals are pressuring government leaders to approve such projects, arguing that the next four years are crucial to produce as many films as possible exposing Jagan’s governance.
There’s also a financial incentive — once the green signal is given, funding is expected to flow, with quick productions aimed at maximum returns.
Scripts are reportedly being developed based on controversial events from Jagan’s tenure — like the button-pressing launches, “Siddham” meetings, and covered stage shows during his tours. The goal is to highlight these incidents and craft compelling narratives.
Compared to previous films aimed at Chandrababu, Lokesh, or Pawan, the number of anti-Jagan films in planning appears significantly higher.
