The much-anticipated mythological epic Kannappa, starring Vishnu Manchu, released in theatres today (June 27).
The film has also attracted pan-Indian attention, thanks in part to high-profile cameos by stars like Akshay Kumar and Mohanlal.
According to early estimates by Sacnilk, Kannappa grossed approximately â¹10.5 crore (9 cr net) across India on its opening day. The official final figures are yet to be confirmed.
The film saw strong opening day occupancy, particularly in Telugu-speaking regions at 51.23%, followed by 14.37% in Tamil, 12.75% in Kannada, 11.08% in Hindi, and 5.87% in Malayalam.
Released on over 2,000 screens nationwide, Kannappa marks a major pan-India release.
The film, directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, also faced box office competition in Hindi markets from Kajol’s emotional drama Maa.
