A rare case has emerged where a female teacher, Bipasha Kumar, aged 40, from Bombay Scottish High School in Mahim, Mumbai, faces charges under the POCSO Act for sexually abusing a male minor.
Unlike common reports of male perpetrators, this incident involves a woman making inappropriate advances toward a student, shocking the community.
Bipasha Kumar allegedly coerced the minor into sexual acts at various five-star hotels over the past year, often after giving him alcohol.
The repeated abuse led the boy into depression, prompting his parents to report the matter to the police.
The accusations have rocked the prestigious school, with authorities now investigating the teacher’s actions further.
On Saturday, Bipasha Kumar was arrested and initially held in custody until Wednesday.
The police requested an extra day to conduct a psychological evaluation of the accused. So far, no other parents have filed complaints against her.
Another woman, known to the victim, is also being questioned as part of the ongoing investigation.
