Report: 3500 Millionaires Leaving India?

According to the Henley Private Wealth Migration Report, over 3,500 Indian millionaires are projected to relocate abroad in 2025.

This growing trend highlights the shifting priorities of India’s ultra wealthy, who are increasingly looking beyond borders for a more favorable lifestyle and financial environment.

India continues to rank among the top countries in terms of high-net-worth individual (HNWI) outflows.

One of the major attractions for these millionaires is the prospect of tax-free or low-tax destinations, such as the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Readmore!

The UAE, with its modern infrastructure, luxury living, and favorable business environment, has emerged as a top destination for wealthy individuals seeking both financial benefits and lifestyle upgrades.

Some are also choosing European nations like Malta and Portugal, which offer residency through investment programs and access to the broader EU market.

For many of these Indian millionaires, the move is less about business and more about quality of life. A holiday-like lifestyle with better infrastructure, cleaner surroundings and less population pressure is highly appealing.

These destinations promise a more peaceful, luxurious living experience that India’s congested urban centers often lack.

Some millionaires are aiming to give international exposure to their children and are therefore opting to relocate abroad.

On the whole, this drain of the rich from India is not a good sign. India needs to take measures to prevent this exodus from happening.
