Rishab Shetty, the actor-director behind the 2022 blockbuster Kantara, is set to return with Kantara Chapter 1, a prequel to the hit film.
After charging Rs4 crore for the original, he is now reportedly demanding Rs100 crore for the new film; a massive increase in his fee.
The success of Kantara, which grossed Rs 400 crore at the box office, has made the upcoming prequel one of the most awaited films of 2025.
Produced by Hombale Films, Kantara Chapter 1 is said to be bigger in scale, featuring an elaborate war sequence with over 500 trained fighters and 3,000 people involved in the shoot.
In addition to his Rs100 crore fee, Rishab is also expected to earn around Rs50 crore more through a profit-sharing deal with the producers.
As the film gears up for its theatrical release in October 2025, fans are eager to see if it will match or surpass the success of its predecessor.
Expectations are sky-high for this next chapter in the Kantara saga.
