Kiran Abbavaram’s KâRamp glimpse was released on the occasion of his birthday.
The teaser introduces Kiran as a “richest chillar guy” and portrays him as a character influenced by Malayalam mannerisms, repeatedly saying “manasilayo.”
While the setup seems quirky at first glance, the content in the glimpse has drawn criticism for its excessive profanity and suggestive vulgarity.
Certain words are intentionally delivered to hint at double meanings, making the tone crass and controversial. Even in the opening caption the word like "burra paadu b** jaarude" is also below the belt.
This is particularly problematic given Kiran Abbavaram’s public image.
He is not known for adult-themed roles, and his fanbase includes younger viewers who see him as a relatable, clean actor.
Associating this kind of bold and provocative content with his persona feels out of place and risks alienating his core audience.
If Kiran decided that he can entertain youth audience only with this kind of adult-stuff, that speaks about his dearth of imagination.
Yukthi Tareja plays the female lead in the film. The project is written and directed by Jain Sani. Music is composed by Chaitan Bharwadaj, best known for his work in RX100, and the film is produced by Razesh Danda.
The teaser’s tone has sparked negative reactions, and if it was the makers’ intention to stir controversy for publicity, then they get what they hoped.
