It appears Bharatiya Janata Party MP from Malkajgiri and former Telangana minister Eatala Rajender is said to be feeling suffocated in the party, as he is under the impression that there is a conspiracy to hound him out of the party.
Rajender, who was the front runner for the BJP state president post till recently, was terribly upset for being denied the post, which was instead given to long-standing party leader N Ramachander Rao, a relatively mild character.
According to sources, Rajender is of the view that a section of BJP leaders led by former party president and present union minister Bandi Sanjay was responsible for the party national leadership denying him the party president post.
Adding insult to the injury, Eatala’s followers are being sidelined in Huzurabad assembly constituency which he had represented in the past. During the Friday’s meeting of Bandi Sanjay at Huzurabad, there was no invitation to them.
Angered at this, Eatala’s followers came to his residence in Hyderabad and brought pressure on him to decide his future course of action. He tried to convince them saying he would fight it out and get justice to them.
Stating that Huzurabad is a land of many sacrifices, he said that many struggles originated from Huzurabad. He alleged that some people are spreading false propaganda on social media.
He cited several reasons for his departure from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), clarifying that he did not switch parties for positions.
“We didn’t leave BRS — we were expelled,” he remarked. He said he had experienced “hell” in the party since 2021.
“In the past, I expressed my decisions to KCR without hesitation. In the Huzurabad by-election, it was the people’s self-respect that won. Whether I was in power or in opposition, I developed my constituency,” he said.
Eatala alleged that during the previous Huzurabad assembly election, several people conspired to defeat him.
“There is no village in the undivided Karimnagar district that I haven’t visited. Whenever I fought, the people of Karimnagar supported me. We will ensure victory for every ward member in every village of Huzurabad,” he said.
He said that insults and humiliation are part of politics, and he endured them.
“I only believe in a straight fight, not a street fight. I cannot engage in double standards or backstabbing politics. I fight my enemies head-on. I have a history of fighting for a separate Telangana state,” he said.
Without taking the name of Bandi Sanjay, Eatala said some leaders in politics are living on foundations of lies.
“I only know how to work sincerely for the party. Time will prove everything. A brave person never backs down and knows the limits of patience,” he said.
Taking a dig at the party leadership indirectly, the Malkajgiri MP said a party cannot grow without the growth of individuals.
“I understood the anguish of the workers. I am not so helpless that I cannot address their political needs. My experience can benefit the party. Positions are not my ultimate goal,” he said.
He clarified that whichever party he was in, I would work with dedication.
“I don’t need anyone’s mercy. Not just in politics — covert players exist everywhere. We should ignore them,” he added.
