In a bid to expand into the North Indian market, several Tollywood superstars have turned to Bollywood production houses and directors.
Prabhas was among the first to set this trend by collaborating with T-Series. However, after the disastrous outcome of Adipurush, he reportedly decided to distance himself from Bollywood filmmakers.
Director Om Raut’s portrayal of Prabhas in Adipurush was widely criticized, with the film facing relentless trolling for its presentation.
Now, NTR too has faced a setback with War 2. Hoping to tap into the pan-India market, he took on the second lead role in the YRF production directed by Ayan Mukerji.
But the film stumbled at the box office in its opening days and drew heavy trolling, particularly for NTR’s look and overall presentation.
Fans feel that Mukerji failed to harness NTR’s star power and acting prowess.
As a result, a growing section of the audience is urging Tollywood stars to think twice before collaborating with Bollywood directors in the future.
