Kingdom Hindi Box Office: A Complete Washout

Vijay Deverakonda’s Kingdom has turned out to be a major disappointment at the Indian box office, particularly in its Hindi-dubbed version titled Saamraajya.

Right from its release, the film failed to generate any momentum and, after a little over two weeks in theatres, its run came to an end.

The spy action thriller, which hit screens on July 31, opened to mixed reviews from both critics and audiences.

With weak word-of-mouth and negligible buzz, the Hindi version never stood a chance, especially after the arrival of big-ticket releases like War 2 and Coolie. Readmore!

The film’s Hindi opening was dismal at just ₹19 lakh, and it showed no improvement in subsequent days.

As per final figures, Kingdom (Hindi) managed to collect only ₹1.71 crore nett at the Indian box office. After including GST, its gross collection stood at ₹2.01 crore.

For comparison, Vijay Deverakonda’s earlier Hindi outing Liger; despite being a disaster; still earned ₹21.15 crore nett. This means Kingdom (Hindi) collected about 92% less than Liger, underlining its disastrous run. Unsurprisingly, the film has been declared a flop.

In terms of total earnings, Kingdom brought in ₹51.95 crore nett in India, translating to ₹61.30 crore gross with GST. Overseas, too, the film underperformed, earning only ₹21.25 crore. With Indian and overseas numbers combined, its worldwide gross collection stands at ₹82.55 crore.

For an ambitious spy thriller featuring Vijay Deverakonda, the outcome has been far below expectations, cementing Kingdom as one of the biggest disappointments of the year.
