A video of some rowdy sheeters allegedly conspiring to eliminate Telugu Desam Party legislator from Nellore Rural constituency Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy went viral on Friday, creating ripples in the political circles in the state.
According to sources, five known rowdy-sheeters allegedly devised a master plan to eliminate the MLA.
The gang, including Avilela Srikanth and Jagadish, reportedly plotted the murder with the involvement of local lady don Nidigunta Aruna,
The video reportedly contains conversations suggesting that “there’s a lot of money” for killing the legislator. Kotamreddy’s followers are demanding immediate action to avoid the threat to the MLA’s life.
Recently, Kotamreddy faced a smear campaign on social media allegedly orchestrated by YSRCP leaders about granting parole to Srikanth.
The MLA admitted to have given the recommendation letter, but said the police had rejected his recommendation.
Kotamreddy’s followers are alleging that a key YSRCP leader promised Aruna a party ticket for Gudur or Sullurpet constituency in the upcoming elections if she executed the murder plot.
The TDP leaders allege that the gang attempted to lure Kotamreddy’s followers with money to isolate him politically.
Visibly upset after the video surfaced, the MLA refused to comment on the murder conspiracy but confided that his life is more important than holding a ministerial position. He has also reportedly informed the party leadership about the incident.
Nellore superintendent of police G Krishnakanth said the police were unaware of the video but assured that protection would be provided to the MLA if he requested it.
