After the producers of Akhanda 2 recently announced that the film would not be releasing on its earlier planned date of September 25, speculations quickly began about its new arrival date.
Industry talk suggested that the Balakrishna starrer might take over the December 5 slot, which was vacated after Prabhas’s The Raja Saab shifted to Sankranthi 2026.
Meanwhile, a section of Balakrishna’s fans began trending the idea that Akhanda 2 would join the Sankranthi race and clash with Prabhas’s The Raja Saab and Chiranjeevi’s Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu.
However, reliable sources close to the makers have clarified that this is not the case.
The team has ruled out a Sankranthi 2026 release, confirming that the film will not compete with the two mega biggies.
Akhanda 2 marks the fourth collaboration between Nandamuri Balakrishna and director Boyapati Srinu, and is being produced by 14 Reels Plus in association with Balayya’s daughter Tejaswini.
