Anushka Shetty starrer action-thriller Ghaati, directed by Krish Jagarlamudi and produced by First Frame Entertainments in association with UV Creations, is set for release on September 5th.
Actor Vikram Prabhu expressed his gratitude to director Krish for crafting the character of Desi Raju with him in mind. "I'm a huge fan of Anushka. It was a wonderful experience working alongside her. Interestingly, Jagapathi Babu was my father's college mate, so shooting with him on the first day gave me a bit of a nervous jolt. And whether you love him or hate him, Chaitanya Rao’s character is going to stay with the audience. Seeing my director so excited today truly makes me happy," he shared.
Director Krish revealed that it was writer Chintakindi Srinivasa Rao who first introduced him to the world of Ghaati. "When he spoke to me about the Eastern Ghats and the intense lives of the people living there, I felt a wave of excitement. Not long after, I discovered two powerful and defining characters.
The first was Sheelavati. I had previously worked with Anushka in Vedam, where she played Saroja. In Ghaati, she returns as Sheelavati, a role that showcases her in a way audiences have never seen before.
Before submitting the final cut to the censor board, I watched the film and immediately called Anushka to say, ‘This is your finest performance to date.’ I’m confident the audience will feel the same after watching it."
Krish also addressed his earlier involvement with Hari Hara Veera Mallu, saying: "I have deep admiration and affection for Pawan Kalyan and AM Ratnam. Due to COVID and some personal reasons, I had to step aside from the project. After me, Jyothi Krishna took it forward and completed the journey. Right now, I’m completely focused and very excited about Ghaati."
When asked about Anushka's absence from promotional activities, the director responded, “We fully respect Anushka’s decision. Her performance in the film speaks volumes and is more than sufficient to bring audiences to the theatres.”
