Telugu Students Killed in UK Road Accident

In a tragic incident, two Telugu students were killed in a road accident in Essex, United Kingdom, early on Monday.

One of the victims has been identified as Rishiteja Rapolu (21), a student from Hyderabad’s Boduppal, who was pursuing higher studies in the UK.

According to Essex Police, the crash occurred on the A130 Dual Carriageway near the Rayleigh Spur roundabout.

Local reports, including from the BBC, said a group of nine students — all roommates and residents of the Ilford–Barking area — were travelling to Southend-on-Sea when the accident took place. Readmore!

Two of the victims, critically injured in the crash, were airlifted to the Royal London Hospital, where they succumbed to injuries.

The Essex Fire and Rescue Service said the dual carriageway was closed for several miles between Sadlers Farm roundabout (A13) at South Benfleet and the Rettendon Turnpike (A1245) at Battlesbridge to clear the wreckage.

Police confirmed that the drivers of the two vehicles involved — aged 23 and 24 — have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving. They remain in custody as investigations continue.
