'Krish Gave Me 2 Distinct Characters Saroja, Sheela'

Anushka, who is awaiting the release of Ghaati, directed by Krish, has chosen to stay away from movie promotions. However, she has been addressing the media through phone calls.

The actress explains that it's a personal decision to stay low-key at the moment.

“I took a break because I wasn’t well, and I haven’t been attending public events or functions either. But I’ll definitely step out when I feel comfortable,” she says.

Speaking about her character in Ghaati, Anushka shares, “It’s more about fighting through inner strength. When you’re in pain, at a dead end, and don’t know how to retaliate, that’s when you dig deep and bring out your strength to fight back. That’s exactly how the character Sheelavathi was designed.” Readmore!

Anushka also thanks director Krish for crafting two powerful roles for her in different films.

“Whether it was Saroja in Vedham or Sheelavathi in Ghaati, he’s given me two distinct characters I never imagined I’d get to play. Just like Saroja, I believe Sheelavathi will also be remembered for a long time.”

On Krish’s evolution as a filmmaker, she says, “Krish always tries to outdo himself, and that’s something I deeply admire.”

The actress will also be seen performing some intense action sequences. “If the character demands it, I’m always ready to give my best. Ghaati is the kind of film that can be enjoyed with the entire family.”

Ghaati is set to release in just three days, on September 5th.
