BRS senior leader and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s nephew T Harish Rao has once again become the central target of MLC K Kavitha’s fiery criticism.
This time, Kavitha’s remarks have created a situation where Harish himself may be forced to come before the media and offer a clarification. If he doesn’t, there is the danger that her allegations may be taken as truth.
Facing the media for the first time since her suspension from the BRS, Kavitha launched sharp attacks on Harish Rao and, to a lesser extent, on J Santosh Rao.
She claimed that while she shares a blood relationship with KCR and K T Rama Rao, it is Harish Rao who has been plotting to divide the family.
“Father, please see what the people around you are doing,” she appealed.
Kavitha went on to warn that today she has been targeted, but tomorrow it will be KTR and later even KCR himself.
Kavitha claimed that conspiracies against her started when Revanth Reddy and Harish Rao flew on the same flight to Delhi.
Alleging that there is match-fixing between Revanth Reddy and Harish Rao, she said the Congress government never conducted an investigation into allegations against Harish Rao.
She further alleged that the opposition’s accusations were not just about Harish Rao but ultimately aimed at her father KCR.
According to her, corruption involving Harish Rao and Santosh Rao has now led to the CBI inquiry into KCR.
Kavitha also dug into the past, recalling that Harish Rao had stopped KCR from resigning as Deputy Speaker and leaving the TDP, fearing uncertainty about the future.
“From the very beginning, Harish was never truly with KCR,” she claimed, mocking him as not a “trouble-shooter” but a “bubble-shooter.”
She alleged that Harish Rao was behind many leaders quitting the party, including Vijayashanthi, Mynampally, and Etela Rajender.
She accused him of secretly helping Etela in the by-polls, ensuring a BRS defeat in Dubbaka, and even funding rivals to weaken KTR in Sircilla.
According to Kavitha, in 2018, lacking confidence that BRS would return to power, Harish distributed extra funds to 25 MLAs to keep them under his control.
Given the intensity of these allegations, the ball is now in Harish Rao’s court.
The big question: will he counter her claims, or will silence deepen the perception that Kavitha’s charges carry weight?
