Anushka Shetty starrer Ghaati directed by Krish Jagarlamudi certainly made positive impression with its promos.
The actress says the character Sheelavathi, which she played in Ghaati, is an incredible one. “I’ve never played a role like this before. It has such beautiful layers. This film pushed me beyond my comfort zone, and I’m proud of that.”
Anushka reveals that when director Krish and writer Srinivas narrated the story to her, she was immediately drawn to its cultural depth. “Once we visited the locations, it became clear that we were going to present something visually and culturally unique to the audience. That was very exciting.”
The film deals with the issue of ganja. However, Anushka says that Krish has handled the subject sensitively and effectively. “Krish always chooses socially relevant stories. This is a serious issue in society. While Ghaati is an action-packed commercial entertainer, it also conveys a strong and positive message.”
The film was shot on the Andhra–Odisha border, in remote areas. Fans gathered in large numbers to see her during the shoot. Anushka affirms, “I’m always grateful for the love and support of my fans and audiences. When you do good work, recognition follows from every corner of the world. I’d like to thank all the directors and producers who’ve given me such incredible roles since Arundhathi.”
Anushka remains hopeful that Ghaati will become a commercial success.
