GlobeTrotter: Can KL Narayana Pull Off a ₹1200 Cr Budget?

There is still no official confirmation from SS Rajamouli and his team about the budget of GlobeTrotter, but the filmmaker’s recent meeting with Kenyan officials has generated massive national and international buzz.

A Kenyan daily reported that the film is being mounted on a staggering ₹1200 crore budget, and the figure has since been widely quoted by Indian media outlets.

For perspective, Rajamouli’s Baahubali films together were made with around ₹500 crore. Allu Arjun and Atlee’s upcoming project is pegged at ₹700 crore.

So, the question arises — will Rajamouli really push the bar to ₹1200 crore for GlobeTrotter? And if so, can producer KL Narayana muster such a colossal amount? Readmore!

Narayana hasn’t produced a film in nearly two decades — his last outing being NTR’s Rakhi (2006). However, he is one of the wealthiest realtors in Hyderabad and Vijayawada, with vast real estate ventures.

Financial muscle is not a concern, but whether such an unprecedented budget is viable for even one part of this planned two-parter remains uncertain.

GlobeTrotter, starring Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra, and Prithviraj Sukumaran, is currently being shot in Kenya.
