After the massive success of HanuMan in 2024, which grossed nearly â¹300 crore worldwide, Teja Sajja has once again struck gold with Mirai.
The superhero fantasy opened to a strong response on Friday, becoming the biggest opener of the actor’s career and surpassing his previous record set by HanuMan.
On day one, Mirai collected over â¹12 crore across all languages in India. The Telugu version reported strong theatre occupancy - 56.20% in the morning, 63.61% in the afternoon, and over 70% by evening.
The Hindi version, however, started slow, though positive word-of-mouth could help it gain traction in the coming days.
For comparison, Prasanth Varma’s HanuMan had earned â¹9.3 crore on its opening day in 2024, with an additional â¹4.7 crore from paid previews.
Remarkably, despite no special shows being organised, Mirai still managed to outperform HanuMan on its first Friday.
Produced by TG Vishwa Prasad and Krithi Prasad under the People Media Factory banner, Mirai combines mythology, action, and cutting-edge VFX to deliver a grand spectacle.
Directed by Karthik Gattamneni, the film follows a warrior entrusted with protecting nine sacred scriptures, setting the stage for an epic battle of heritage and heroism.
The film also stars Manoj Manchu and Shriya Saran.
