Atlee is moving full steam ahead on his action-driven parallel-universe drama AA22xA6.
After a 50-day Mumbai stint - capped by a dance sequence - the team shifts to Abu Dhabi next month for the second schedule, focused on high-octane set pieces.
A production source says Atlee has been “working with 15 reputed writers from across India on storyboarding and creative.”
The upcoming UAE leg, planned for October, will film major action sequences in the red dunes of Liwa Oasis.
Deepika Padukone is expected to join the unit for this schedule. The ensemble also features Rashmika Mandanna, Mrunal Thakur, Janhvi Kapoor, and Ramya Krishnan.
Alongside action design, Atlee is consulting top VFX houses and scouting marketing partners. Backed by Kalanithi Maran’s Sun Pictures, the production is eyeing a global campaign.
Alexandra E. Visconti, EVP of Creative Content at Connekkt MobScene, was spotted in Mumbai last month.
According to the source, the pan-India, high-budget sci-fi actioner - pegged at around â¹600 crore - is in talks with the Hollywood agency to craft a strategy aimed at international audiences. Allu Arjun is also slated to travel to the U.S. this month to wrap VFX-related work.
Connekkt MobScene’s credits include franchises and tentpoles such as Avatar, Dune, Fast & Furious, Jurassic World, Barbie, Wonder Woman, The Suicide Squad, and Justice League.
