The trailer of Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1 has just been released. It is natural to wonder what exactly it holds and whether it carries the same vibe as the already-beloved earlier film in this franchise.
The trailer begins and continues in a monarchial period. A character’s voice declares that when a man walks on the path of adharma, God sends someone to set things right.
The story appears to be woven around this line. It showcases a tyrannical king, a princess and a blossoming relationship between the princess and the protagonist, followed by how the protaganist rebels against tyranny.
The music and background score hint at an engaging mood, somewhat reminiscent of what we experienced in the original Kantara.
However, the concern lies in how the first film was deeply rooted in the culture and soil of Karnataka, while this trailer leans more toward a fantasy-driven, cliched storyline set in a historical ambience.
It remains to be seen what the film ultimately offers.
The movie is written and directed by Rishab Shetty, produced by Vijay Kiragandur, and stars Rishab Shetty, Rukmini Vasant, Jayaram, Gulshan Devaiah, and others. Music is scored by Ajaneesh Loknath.
