The producers of the much-awaited film OG secured temporary relief from the Telangana High Court on Thursday after a Division Bench stayed the earlier order of a single judge that had blocked the hike in cinema ticket prices.
On Wednesday, the single judge had barred any increase in ticket rates for the film’s release, sparking concern among producers and distributors who were relying on premium pricing for strong opening weekend revenues.
Challenging the ruling, the makers appealed to the Division Bench, which suspended the earlier order until Friday. This interim relief allows the producers to go ahead with revised ticket pricing, at least for now.
The court will hear the case again on Friday to decide the next course of action. The verdict is expected to impact not just OG but also other big-ticket releases planning similar price hikes.
