TDP MLA take it easy with assembly, Naidu unhappy

Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday expressed strong dissatisfaction over the conduct of his party MLAs during the ongoing monsoon session of the state legislative assembly.

He noted that many MLAs were arriving late, spending only a short time in the House, and leaving midway. On Thursday, when the session began, only 30 MLAs were present in the assembly.

Taking serious note of this, Naidu questioned chief whip G V Anjaneyulu, who in turn alerted the party whips.

About 15 MLAs were immediately directed to attend, while whips also began calling absent members to explain their absence. Readmore!

Stressing that the assembly is the right platform to debate public issues and the state’s development, Chandrababu Naidu reminded even the YSRCP leadership and its legislators to attend diligently.

Expressing displeasure at MLAs treating the House casually, he made it clear that attendance and active participation were non-negotiable.

The monsoon session, which began on September 18, will continue for eight days.
