'OG' Director Says Mass Violence Losing Steam

Director Sujeeth, best known for action-packed films like Saaho and OG, says he is ready to step away from the brand of ultra-violent cinema that has defined much of his work.

In recent years, Telugu blockbusters such as RRR, KGF, Pushpa, Salaar, and Devara have ruled the box office with dark, gritty themes, making violent action the most bankable genre for top stars. But Sujeeth believes the trend is losing steam.

“I don’t think this format will deliver the same results over the next two years. The saturation point has already been reached, and audiences are slowly getting tired of this style of storytelling,” he noted.

Determined to reinvent himself, Sujeeth revealed that his next film will be a dark comedy-drama; marking a clear departure from the large-scale action spectacles that established his name. Readmore!
