It appears fissures within the Telugu Desam Party-led coalition government are getting exposed with members of one alliance partner speaking openly against the other partner in the ongoing assembly session.
On Friday, it was the turn of Bharatiya Janata Party legislator Sujana Chowdary to pull up the Naidu government for resolving the critical problems of the people.
He questioned the government on three key issues: problems of Amaravati farmers, the Rushikonda Palace project in Visakhapatnam, and the promotion of an official allegedly linked to YSRCP in the State Election Commission.
Sujana pointed out that despite the change in government, officials and works from the previous administration were still continuing.
He asked whether it was correct to reward officer Saiprasad — accused of disrupting the election process under the YSRCP regime — with a promotion and key responsibilities.
Referring to Amaravati, he said farmers had been crying out for justice for five years, but even after 15 months of the coalition government, their grievances remain unresolved.
He recalled that the speaker had earlier agreed to allocate two hours for a debate on the issue, but it never materialised.
On the Visakhapatnam Rushikonda Palace, he alleged that the previous government had spent Rs 26,000 per sq. ft, describing it as “extravagant” and in violation of environmental norms.
He demanded that the coalition government take immediate corrective action.
