The Telangana government has granted a huge ticket price hike for OG, along with a premiere show one day before its release.
The big question is, will the same be done for Balakrishna’s Akhanda 2?
However, the Telangana government has recently clarified that there will be no further ticket price hikes, as the court has already issued a decree on this matter.
If permission is given for Pawan Kalyan’s film but not for Balakrishna’s, it could cause uproar among Balakrishna’s fans in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
They believe their hero also has the potential to generate massive collections, something that becomes easier with higher ticket prices.
Moreover, when the Deputy CM of a neighboring state is honored with ticket price hikes, but the brother-in-law of the Chief Minister is not, it could create political and personal differences.
Balakrishna, who already felt insulted when his name was placed in the 9th position by his own state’s cinematography minister in an official invitation, may perceive this as further disrespect, seeing that Pawan Kalyan was honored well by neighbroing state while he was ignored.
We now have to wait and see what decision the Telangana government will take regarding ticket price hikes for Akhanda 2.
The same situation applies to Prabhas’ Raja Saab as well. If ticket hikes are not approved, Prabhas’ fans too may feel disappointed.
Overall, this inconsistency, granting price hikes at times and denying them at others, risks creating more enemies than goodwill for the current Telangana government.
