Who helped Balayya get away in gunfire episode?

The recent controversy over Telugu Desam Party MLA and senior Tollywood actor Nandamuri Balakrishna’s unsavoury comments in the state assembly describing YSR Congress party president and former chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy as a “psycho” continues to die down.

The YSRCP leaders continue to recall the episode of Balakrishna getting away without any punishment after opening fire at a film producer at his residence when Jagan’s father late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy was the chief minister, by obtaining a medical certificate showing that he had a mental disorder.

On Wednesday, YSR’s brother-in-law and Jagan’s maternal uncle Ravindranath Reddy recalled past events relating to the gunfire incident at Balakrishna’s residence.

He claimed that he was the one who had personally taken Balakrishna to the then chief minister and pleaded with him to save Balakrishna by citing his mental certificate. Readmore!

Ravindranath alleged that when the firing took place at Balakrishna’s house, none of his close relatives stood by him.

“Even TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu came only the next day. I went to YSR, explaining that Balakrishna had a mental certificate and that the shooting happened under those circumstances. I requested YSR to prevent his arrest, and thus Balayya was saved from being jailed,” he stated.

YSRCP leaders are now highlighting these past events in the backdrop of Balakrishna’s latest “psycho” remarks.

What has shocked political circles is that Ravindranath himself has openly admitted to taking Balakrishna to YSR for protection.

Earlier, even Lakshmi Parvathi had claimed that she requested YSR to save Balakrishna.

With a close family member now confirming the episode, the issue has once again become a hot topic.
