Rishab Shetty’s much-awaited prequel, Kantara: Chapter 1, is roaring at the North American box office, with the Telugu version outperforming the original Kannada release by a clear margin.
On its third day, the film grossed $717K, taking its total North American collection to $1.97 million across all languages. What’s particularly striking is how the Telugu audience has driven the film’s overseas success.
Out of the total, the Telugu version leads with $980K, while the Kannada version stands at $830K. The Hindi version contributed $154K, followed by Tamil with $5K and Malayalam with $1K.
The strong performance of the Telugu version is being seen as a reflection of Rishab Shetty’s growing fan base in the Telugu states after the massive success of the first Kantara.
With its mythological depth, rooted storytelling, and stunning visuals, Kantara: Chapter 1 continues to draw large crowds in the United States and Canada.
