The OTT streaming date for OG has finally been announced, signaling the end of its theatrical run. Despite massive hype and expectations, the film’s performance in the North American market fell short of fans’ lofty hopes.
While OG delivered the highest box-office numbers of Pawan Kalyan’s career, the collections didn’t quite match the craze surrounding the star.
Many believed this film would push Pawan into the Top 5 of North America’s highest-grossing Telugu films, but that didn’t happen.
OG entered the Top 10 list, but it couldn’t break into the Top 5. When compared to industry giants like Baahubali 2, Kalki 2898 AD, Pushpa 2, and RRR, the film lagged far behind.
In North America, OG has grossed approximately $5.6 million, which is expected to be its final box office tally. With the film set to stream on Netflix on October 23, its theatrical run is effectively coming to a close.
During its entire run, OG managed to surpass the collections of Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, Hanuman, and Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, but it failed to cross NTR’s Devara.
Up next, Pawan Kalyan will be seen in Ustaad Bhagat Singh directed by Harish Shankar. Fans are now hoping that this film will finally push him into the elite Top 5 list at the U.S. box office.
