Want a Job in AI? Be Ready for 72-Hour Work Weeks

Artificial Intelligence may promise to make work easier, but building AI is no easy job.

According to The Washington Post, many AI startups are now making 72-hour work weeks mandatory for their employees. This means people are expected to work long hours; from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., six days a week; a schedule known as “996 culture.”

This work culture started in China’s tech industry and is now becoming popular in Silicon Valley, the home of major tech companies like Google and Facebook.
