Adivi Sesh’s love and action drama Dacoit which was scheduled for its theatrical release during Christmas on December 25th stands postponed.
The decision follows Adivi Sesh’s recent leg injury. A major action sequence, pivotal to the film, is yet to be filmed and demands complete physical involvement given its intensity and high-risk nature.
Sesh is recovering from the injury and the team has now announced a new release date. Dacoit will hit the screens on March 19, 2026, for the Ugadi festival.
The Thursday release ensures a long weekend advantage for the film, which is billed as a love-and-revenge drama.
The release-date poster features Sesh and Mrunal Thakur seated inside a car. Sesh, with intensity on his face, turns back and points a gun toward his enemies, while Mrunal appears visibly distressed.
The bullet mark on the windshield and a burning jeep in front of the car hint that the poster is from a high-octane action sequence.
Bollywood filmmaker-actor Anurag Kashyap, making his Telugu debut, will be seen in a crucial role as a cop.
Directed by Shaniel Deo, Dacoit is being mounted on a grand scale by Supriya Yarlagadda, co-produced by Suniel Narang, and presented by Annapurna Studios.
