Trade Talk: Fate Of Four Films Released This Week

This week’s theatrical releases have delivered a mixed bag at the box office.

'Jatadhara' turned out to be a complete disaster, failing to draw audiences even over the opening weekend. Despite decent pre-release buzz, the film collapsed under negative word of mouth and poor occupancy.

The much-hyped 'The Girlfriend', backed by Geetha Arts and Allu Aravind, and featuring Rashmika Mandanna in the lead, was expected to be a winner. However, the film has turned out to be a major disappointment.

Despite its big names and strong brand value, the opening collections are far below breakeven levels, with even prime multiplexes reporting poor collections. The talk is mixed adding to the woes.  Readmore!

On the other hand, 'The Great Pre-Wedding Show' has also opened to below average collections but garnered positive talk.

Audience feedback is encouraging, and with a strong promotional push, it has the potential to sustain and grow through word-of-mouth in the coming days.

Meanwhile, Aaryan, which already flopped in Tamil Nadu, has found little traction in Telugu states as well. Collections remain weak and discouraging, adding another name to the list of disasters this week.

Overall, a dull week for the trade, with only one film showing some promise, but needs hard push.
