Politics is full of ambitions and anxieties. At times, these desires make leaders take unpredictable steps.
Because of changing situations, some leaders make drastic decisions either before or after elections. But as time passes and lessons are learned, they begin to rethink their choices.
Now, there is growing talk that several former YSRCP leaders who left the party are looking back toward the “Fan” party once again.
It is being said that former minister Avanti Srinivasa Rao, who quit the YSRCP at the end of last year, is now exploring ways to return to his home party.
Reports suggest that a proposal to this effect has already reached the party high command.
Recently, during the Radhakrishna Mahotsavam held in Bheemunipatnam, the sight of several former YSRCP leaders together sparked political discussion.
Former VMRDA Chairperson Akkaramani Vijaya Nirmala, former minister Avanti Srinivasa Rao, and Bheemili YSRCP in-charge Mazzi Srinivasa Rao all participated in the event.
Speaking of Vijaya Nirmala — she contested from the Visakhapatnam East constituency in 2019 but lost. Later, she was given an important position in the YSRCP government.
However, when she was denied a ticket for the 2024 elections, she quit the party and joined the TDP. Now, with no real opportunities for ex-YSRCP leaders in the Telugu Desam Party, she too is said to be looking back toward the YSRCP.
However, this time, YSRCP’s top leadership reportedly plans to take a cautious approach — considering all factors before readmitting any returning leaders.
Party workers are said to be urging the leadership to be selective about who gets welcomed back.
