YSRCP roping in Vangaveeti's daughter?

The sudden emergence of Vangaveeti Asha Kiran, daughter of slain Kapu leader Vangaveeti Ranga, into media limelight on Sunday, triggered wide speculations in the Andhra Pradesh political circles.

Asha Kiran, who had been keeping away from the political activities, suddenly came to the fore to pay tributes to her father  and declared that she was planning to reconnect with the public and work towards fulfilling Ranga’s ideals.

Speaking to the media, Asha Kiran said she had stayed away from public life for some time but now intends to dedicate herself completely to the people’s issues.

Though she did not indicate that she would directly enter politics, she declared that she would take up the cause of the people. Readmore!

“From today, my journey will be with the people. I will stand by them in difficult times,” she asserted.

She added that she would participate in various programmes at the invitation of the Radha-Ranga Mitra Mandali, further indicating her alignment with organisations associated with her father’s legacy.

According to sources, the YSRCP has been doing extensive lobbying to bring Asha Kiran into active politics, obviously with an eye on Kapu vote bank.

Though the party made an attempt to bring her brother Vangaveeti Radhakrishna back into the party, it did not succeed.

Now, the YSRCP leadership is trying to bring Asha Kiran into the party through her family friends Kodali Nani and Vallabhaneni Vamsi. She may take a call on joining the YSRCP sooner or later, sources said.

Asha Kiran also acknowledged the differences between Radha and the Ranga Mitra Mandali, noting that her re-entry into public life is aimed at bridging that gap.

Praising both Ranga and his elder son Vangaveeti Radhakrishna, she said they had always served people without any discrimination of caste or religion.

She reiterated her commitment to advancing Ranga’s mission and assured that she would remain accessible to the public as she embarks on her political journey.
